James Layton Bailey A celebration of life will be held for James Layton Bailey Jr., at First United Methodist Church in Sylacauga on December 6th at 12:30 pm. Reverend Russell Heastley and Reverend Stephen McWhorter will officiate. Burial will be held following the funeral ceremony at Pine Hill Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bailey passed away December 3rd at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by James L. Bailey Sr., Maureen Senn Bailey, and Willine Senn Hughston. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carole Thompson Bailey, son and daughter in law John Patrick and Taylor Bailey, sisters in law and brothers in law Jane and Mike McLain and Carol and Hank Thompson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bailey was retired from Talladega County Department of Human Res, where he was a program supervisor of public assistance, food stamps, and adult services. He was also a partner in Killough Bailey Properties. He was a member of the Birmingham association of Realtors, First United Methodist Church, and former president of Sylacauga Kiwanis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials made to First United Methodist Church 105 East Spring Street Sylacauga, AL 35150. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www. radneysmith.com.
