age 67, of Cranston, passed away on May 17, 2019. All who knew Jim can attest to his larger than life presence. At his core, Jim had an unshakable work ethic, a deep love for his family and an artistic perfectionism that served him well.

With grit, determination and sheer force of will, he built Ricci’s Truck Painting into a thriving and respected business in Johnston for 35 years. He began his career Avenia Sign Company and Luxury Truck Co in North Providence and B&J Truck Leasing, a family business, in the late 1970’s before establishing Ricci’s in 1984. The garage was his castle, a place where people could bring him their beat-up trucks, cars and trailers.

With an artist’s eye and a passion for a job well done, Jim could see past the dents and damage and with unmatched talent and skill he got to work. When a vehicle rolled out of Ricci’s Truck Painting, it gleamed not just with a new paint job, but with new life. As important as the work he did, was the community he created.

A village made up of old and young gathered in that shop, connected by their love of vintage cars, coffee and cigars – they developed friendships that spanned decades. Family was important to Jim. Fueled by love, he worked tirelessly to make sure the ones he loved were taken care of, protected and happy.

He was immeasurably proud of his children, adored by his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was never one to pontificate or lecture, but through his example he unknowingly mentored many. His life and his love will leave an enduring legacy.

His hard work, self-discipline, generosity and perseverance in the face of adversity is something his entire family will strive to emulate. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Ucci) Ricci for 31 years. Loving father of Jamie, Jessica and Jennifer Ricci, all of Cranston, Tiffany Ann Ricci (Evan) of Washington, DC, James Ricci of Centerville, and the late Robert and William Ricci.

Cherished son of Etta M. Ricci, of Walpole, Ma, formerly of North Providence and the late Benjamin P. Ricci. Grandson of late Panfilo and Anna (Lepore) Ricci and James and Agnes (Allen) Ricci. Brother of Margaret DeGiulio of Smithfield, Benjamin J. Ricci (Lori Ann) of Warwick, and Lisa Marie Stearns (Dana) of Walpole, MA.

Grandfather to Nicholas, Calvin, Eleanor, Gianni and Lucas. Beloved uncle, brother-in-law, colleague and friend to many, his big personality and heart will be dearly missed by all. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave.

, Cranston on Friday at 8:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Rd. , Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
