James Lowell Byrd, 76 of Huntsville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Big South Fork Medical Center in Oneida, Tennessee. Born May 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Onva and Florence Strunk Byrd. James was a Veteran of the United States Army; he served as Register of Deeds for Scott County from 1974 to 1990; and was a member of the Scott County Masonic Lodge #670 F&AM.

In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his sisters: Joyce Smith and Jewell Cox; and brother: Donald Byrd. He is survived by his wife: Eloise Keeton Byrd; two children: Chancery James Byrd, and Stephanie Hope Babb and husband Mike, both of Huntsville; two grandchildren: Michael Gage Babb and Chelsey of Russellville, TN, and McKayla Grace Babb of Huntsville; special friends: Quinton Allred and Eustice Collins; and many other family members and friends. Friends may visit with the Byrd family on Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro.
