Obituary for James Lynn Taylor RICHMOND, Ind. – James Lynn Taylor, age 87, of Richmond, Indiana, passed to peace in his home, Wednesday, March 7, 2018. James was born October 29, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Fred and Evelyn McFerren Taylor.

He spent most of his childhood in Marion, Indiana, graduating from Marion High School. James attended Indiana University, University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music, and later Earlham College. He also served in the U.S. Army.

James’s passion for sports, music, and storytelling led him to a career in broadcasting. He was involved in several different markets in the area, with the longest being 52 years with WKBV in Richmond. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Huber of Columbia City, Indiana; daughters, Sheila (Steve) Pluckebaum of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Sondra (Jerry) Ozbun of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Taylor of Detroit, Michigan; son-in-law, Paul Harman of Richmond; stepdaughter, Lori (Kelly) Ward of Hagerstown, Indiana; stepson, Bob Durbin of Richmond; grandchildren, Jason (Anna) Harman of Bloomington, Indiana, Matthew (Danyelle) Harman of Hagerstown, Brandon Harman of Richmond, Ezekiel (Kelly) Taylor of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Heather (Sam) Richards and Lindsay (David) McPhaul, both of Detroit, Michigan, Mary Catharine (Tony) Grau and Peter (Morgan) Pluckebaum, both of Indianapolis, and Damián (Hannah) Ozbun of Rising Sun, Indiana; step-grandchildren, Luke (Angi) Durbin, Brandy (Doug) Cole, Stacey Durbin Harsh, Desiree Durbin, Aliyah Durbin, Josh (Monika) Ward, and Joseph (Allyson) Ward, all of Richmond; 21 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debrah Harman; son, Lawrence Taylor; great-grandson, Christopher Jude Grau; stepson, Gary Durbin; parents; sisters, Romelie Jeane Taylor and Jerrie Jo Scott; brother-in-law, George Scott; and second wife, Sally Taylor. There will be a private, family service. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
