OBITUARY James Martin McLeod December 22, 1946 – January 25, 2019 James Martin “Marty” McLeod, 72, passed away on January 25, 2019. He was the son of the late Roger H. and Audrey McLeod of Angier, NC. Marty was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the Navy for four years.

He was on the USS Seminole AKA/LKA 104. He was retired and previously employed by Aldersgate Retirement Community. Prior to that he was employed by several home builders.

Marty was preceded in death by his daughter Heidi May McLeod. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Baugh McLeod; daughter Holly McLeod Owens (Douglas) of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter Lily Madison; son Sean Martin Sanker of Newton, MA; brothers Steve McLeod (Brenda) of Calabash, NC, Mike McLeod (Nita) of Erwin, NC, Douglas McLeod (Joyce) of Belmont, NC; sister Fran Coats (Bill) of Greensboro, NC; brother-in-law Michael Sudderth of Charlotte, NC; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at McEwen Funeral Services, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte on Monday, February 4, 2019 beginning at 10:30am.

Funeral Service will follow at 12:00pm. Interment will take place at Sharon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his granddaughter Lily’s education fund, “Holly Owens for Lily” at any BB&T branch.

Please be certain to leave your name with the branch so the family will know whom to thank. Arrangements are under the care of McEwen Funeral Services at Sharon Memorial Park.
