James Montgomery “Monty” Coleman, age 65, resident of Somerville and husband of Susan Williams Coleman, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 2019 at Regional One Health in Memphis. A Memorial Service for Mr. Coleman will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel in Somerville.

Monty was born October 7, 1953 in Somerville, Tennessee, the son of Robert William Coleman and Bernice Montgomery Coleman. He was a graduate at the University of Tennessee at Martin and was employed as a pharmacist for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. He enjoyed special times with his grandchildren, golfing, hunting, reading, drinking tequila and University of Memphis Tigers basketball.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife who he married February 24, 1983, Susan Williams Coleman of Somerville, TN; his daughter, Leslie Salama (Mohammed) of Seattle, WA; his son, Bryan Coleman (Bonnie) of Oakland, TN; and five grandchildren, Toya Salama, Ritaj Salama, Brynlee Coleman, Bristol Coleman and Baylor Coleman. The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
