James D. “Paz” Demasi KEYSER, WV – James D. “Paz” Demasi, 90, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 6, 1928 at home in Keyser, he was a son of Larry DeMasi and Carmela ”Nellie” (Panetta) DeMasi. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Emily Demasi.

Paz retired from Westvaco after 40 plus year of service as a Supervisor in Machine Coating Department. He was a 1946 graduate of Keyser High School and served for three years in the U.S. Army Korean Conflict. A member of the Church of the Assumption, Knights of Columbus Council 10545, life member of VFW Post 6775 Queen’s Point and a member of Victory Post 155, American Legion, Westernport.

Some of Paz’s favorite past times were golfing and watching football games. Surviving are his brothers, Arthur “Art” DeMasi and Alfred E. “Puff” DeMasi; his sisters, Mary J. Shannon, Gloria Demasi, Adelene “Dena” Demasi-Turner; his nephews, James Shannon and Larry “PJ” Demasi and wife Shannon; his nieces, Ann Marie Demasi and Gina Demasi; his four great nephews, James Kesner and wife Susan, Michael Shannon, Dominic Demasi and Maverick Demasi and his two great nieces, Jessica Dobrowolski and Adrienne Demasi. He is also survived by his great-great nephew, Stone Kesner; his great-great niece, Leaunna Kesner and his four legged furry friend, Gabriella.

Friends will be received at the Markwood Funeral Home on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Rosary Service will be held Friday at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, 34 James Street, Keyser on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Binoy Thomas, CST as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery, Keyser, WV.
