James’ Obituary James Edward Rhom, 74, of Gastonia, passed away, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at his residence. He was born, March 2, 1945 in McDowell County, son of the late Kenneth and Wyona Rhom. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Franklin Lloyd Rhom; son, Ronnie Rhom; and grand-daughter, Taylor Rhom.

James is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Joanne Rhom; son, Billy and Tammy Rhom of Gastonia; daughter, Christi and Lee Dixon of Charleston; 5 grand-children, Matthew Rhom, Dillon, Brie, Grayson and Parker Dixon. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Mike Wilson will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church – 3001 York Hwy, Gastonia, NC 28052.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to, Gaston Hospice – PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
