Obituary for James Richard Crippen Sr. Memorial Services for James Richard Crippen Sr., 77, of Rusk, will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brad Turlington and Bro. Don Copeland officiating.

Mr. Crippen passed away November 3, 2018. He was born August 8, 1941 in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late James “Dick” and Dorothy Crippen. He attended Cushing School early on and then moved to Rusk.

He is a Methodist by faith and loved being a cowboy, playing guitar, worked for Texas Animal Health Commission, Rusk State Hospital and retired from TDC. He is predeceded in death by his parents, son, Joe Karl Crippen, He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wilma Crippen of Rusk, children, Jamie and Sharon Crippen of Rusk, grandchildren, Christy and Ricky Perkins of Bullard, Wendy King of Rusk, Ashley and Bucky Garner of Rusk, Leigh Ann Crippen of Rusk, Jamie and Jason Penney of Bullard, Randa and Aaron Jacobsen of San Antonio, Tanner Crippen of Rusk, 16 great grand-children, and brother and sister-in-law, Donald Ray and Shearon Crippen of Rusk.
