James (Jim) Scott Patch, 46, of Island Lake departed too soon from this life on December 12, 2018. Born on October 19, 1972 in Highland Park, IL, Jim spent most of his childhood in Arlington Heights and his adult life in Island Lake, IL. Jim was a man of many talents and passions.

A big kid at heart, he loved spending time with his children, watching cartoons and movies, and playing games. He threw himself passionately into new projects and interests, sometimes to the exclusion of all else whether that was a business idea, baking cookies, planning a ride, developing a new friendship, mastering martial arts, developing a martial arts program for special needs children, or strategizing a video game. Jim also loved riding his motorcycle and spending time surrounded by friends, especially if an open road or music was involved.

Jim expanded his circle of family and friends when he joined Gangi Martial Arts in 2010. Starting as a new student he threw himself into the discipline. Martial arts was a passion he shared with both of his children.

Known by the name “Dozer” he has earned the title of Senpai, or Senior Brother, with a 4th level black belt. He used his passions for physical therapy and working with children with special needs to create his Dozer’s Kata for Kiddos class to help children with physical and cognitive diagnoses maintain their body function. Jim was a man with many friends and family members.

He was preceded in death by fathers, Preston Patch and Michael King. He is survived by his wife, Stacie Noisey, and children Chloe and Kellen, his mother Utilia (Lee), sisters Lee Ann (Ruben) Gonzales, Mary (Michael) Wozny, Penny (Scott) Copland, Lisa Patch-Weis Spark, Stephanie (Charles) Klein, Michelle, Tina King, step-siblings, Riki Sayre, Bruce Sayre, Cindi Knight, Mike Sayre, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 20, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a brief memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 North Main Street, Wauconda, IL 60084.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a cause that Jim held dear, the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial. Your donation will help preserve and maintain the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial and assist Gold Star families and veteran organizations.
