James Walter Yancey, age 58 of Oneida, TN went to be with Jesus with his loving family and friend by his side. Born in Scott County, TN on December 16, 1960, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Clona (West) Yancey. He was a member of the Big Ridge Road Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shonda Louise Yancey and sister, Ruth Ann Roysdon. He is survived by his sister, Murliene Yancey Hatfield; special niece caregiver, Michelle Lynn Hatfield and fiancé Shane Phillips; nephew, Joseph Lee Hatfield and wife, Pam; special friends, Ricky Bryant at Huntsville Manor Nursing Home, Nancey and Worley Hunt, Stephanie and Tim Erwin, Mark, Alex and Tara Burchfield, Paul Botts, Mike Stringer and Bobby and Pat Hill; several other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Friends may visit with the Yancey family on Sunday, February 3, 2019 from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro.

Music will be provided by Shane Phillips and Shonda Phillips. Burial will follow in the ton Memorial Cemetery in the Paint Rock Community. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
