Obituary of James Flynn James Thomas Flynn Westbrookville, NY It is with deep sadness the family of James Thomas Flynn announce his passing on January 25, 2019 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, after a long illness. He was 87. James was born on July 19, 1931 in New York, New York to James Flynn and Marion Stegman Flynn.

For sixty two years he was married to his best friend, Frances Barbara Flynn who he affectionately called “Utie”. James was a talented artist, devoted New York Yankees and Rangers fan, loved classic movies, history, stamp collecting, a cup of coffee and a hamburger with pickles and his pride and joy was his family, especially his five grandsons who called him “Poppy”. Throughout his long illness he maintained a brave, determined strength and would tell you, “he felt like a million bucks”.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Frances Barbara Flynn; His son, James Flynn and daughter in law Lisa; his daughter, Karen Flynn Davidson and his son in law Carl; his daughter, Tara Flynn Hunt and son in law Shane; his five grandsons, Dr. Carl Davidson, James Flynn, Trevor Flynn, Brauke Hunt and Griffin Hunt. He was predeceased by his father, James Flynn who died in battle in World War II and his mother, Marion Stegman Flynn. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

A hardworking man that took pride in all he did. “Deep in our hearts a memory is kept of one we loved and shall never forget”. Family and friends may visit the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis, NY 12771 on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 7-9 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 46 Ball St., Port Jervis, NY with Rev. Matthew Newcomb officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
