Jane (Nowack) Kahn, (83), of Amber Ridge Assisted Living, Moline, died on Monday, May 21st, 2018 in Rock Island, IL. Her funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26th, 2018 at Heritage Church, 4801 44th St., Rock Island. A memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service also at the church.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family. Jane was born on December 24, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, to Charles and Ruth (Chubbs) Cahall.

She was later adopted by her Step-Father, Robert Dersham and moved with her family to Illinois in 1949. Jane graduated from Geneseo High School in 1953. Jane first married E. Elmer Nowack in 1953.

They were divorced. On July 17, 1976, Jane married Bernard Kahn in Rock Island, IL. They moved to Pontiac, IL to follow his work with Caterpillar in the 1980’s.

He died on July 23, 2015. Jane spent the early years of her first marriage farming and raising her three children. Later, she worked in various health care jobs like “Children and Family Services” and “Visiting Nurses Association”.

Jane also worked as a “Mental Health Tech”. in the Quad Cities Area. After moving to Pontiac, Jane worked in activities at “Evenglow Lodge and Health Center” for a few years.

Survivors include her children: David (Beth) Nowack, East Moline; John Nowack, Moline; and one stepson, David Kahn of Moline. Jane has three grandchildren, Amy (Johnathan) Walters, Montgomery, IL; Brett Nowack, USS Boise, Norfolk, VA, and Brian Nowack, East Moline. There are also five great-grandchildren: Hailey, Caitlin, and Jack Walters, all of Montgomery, IL and Xander Faulk and Jace Nowack, East Moline.

Jane has one brother, Charles (Rita) Cahall of Hollywood, PA. She touched many lives and a large extended family will miss her very much. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie; her daughter, Janice Kay Nowack; her parents and step-parents; and sister, Ruth Floto, and brother-in-law, Bill Floto.
