Obituary of Jane Shea Wager Jane Shea Wager, a longtime resident of Nanuet NY and Airmont NY, died peacefully at her home on March 8, 2019 after a brief illness. She was born on December 20, 1923 in the Bronx, NY and attended Cathedral High School and Hunter College in Manhattan, the latter during the World War II years. In 1949 she married her high school sweetheart, Gilbert C. Wager, who predeceased her in 2016 after a union of 67 years.

The couple moved their growing family to Nanuet, NY in 1956, where they resided for many years. She was retired from Nanuet Public Schools after decades of service as a mathematics teacher at Nanuet High School. A long time congregant of St Anthony’s Church in Nanuet, she was also a dedicated volunteer at Birthright of Rockland County.

In 2018, she relocated to Georgia to be close to the family of her daughter, Maureen Bosley, a move which greatly enhanced the quality of her last year. A mother of five, she was known as Oma to her family and many close friends. She spent her many happy retirement years travelling with her husband and pursuing her passions, which included education, quilting, and crocheting.

Throughout her life, she was tireless in her efforts to improve the lives of her immediate and extended family, as well as friends and neighbors alike. She is survived by her sister, Irene McCrory, of Newtown, Connecticut, her daughter Eileen Thompson of Pomona, New York, her daughter Maureen Bosley and her husband Tom Bosley of Alpharetta, Georgia, her daughter Kathleen Chapman and her husband Allan Chapman of Grand Cayman Island, her son Gilbert Wager and his wife Mary Malloy of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. and her son William Wager and his wife Joan Smith Wager of coastal Oregon.

She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, who were all a great of joy for her over the course of her long life, as well as a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews, who will all miss her greatly. Calling hours will be Friday, March 15th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Joseph W.
