Janet Ione (Colean) Leibold, 80, of Kennewick passed away on March 16, 2019 in her home. Janet was born on November 28, 1938 in Coulee City and was adopted by Guy R. and Margaret Colean. Janet joined the U.S. Army on June 24, 1958 and was honorably discharged on April 30, 1959.

Janet was an avid sports fan; she loved the Mariners and the Seahawks. She lived in the Tri-Cities for 72 years. Janet is survived by her daughters Guyla M. (Merchant) Mawson, Deborah L. (Merchant) Gojkovich, her granddaughters Desire A. (Hinkley) Moyer, Meghann R. Pearce, Laurel G. Smart, Nicole Harris, her great-grandchildren Jackie Hinkley, Kristopher Hinkley, Brannon Moyer, and her great-great-grandchild Sylvia Faith Moyer.

Janet is preceeded in death by her husband James W. Merchant, her son Michael J. Merchant, her brother John C. (Pete) Colean, and parents Guy R. and Margaret Colean. A graveside service will be held on March 22, 2019 at 10 AM at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
