Mrs. Janet L. Zajacz, 71, of Mahoning Valley, Pa. passed into eternal rest on Thursday, November 1st at her residence. She was the wife of Joseph M. Zajacz.

They celebrated 49 years of marriage this past March 29th, 2018. Born in Lehighton, Pa. on Thursday, January 30, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Delbert & Grace (Berger ) Mertz.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the garment industry for many years in the local area. Janet was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mahoning Valley, Pa. She also held memberships at Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, The East Penn Sporting Club, & The Flying Ace’s Motorcycle Club, Weatherly, Pa.

In her spare time, she could be found assisting her husband Joseph with his beekeeping/honey and corresponding with friends and relatives on Facebook. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sisters, Linda, wife of Edward Finney Jr. of Lehighton, Brenda Leiby of Weissport, nieces & nephews: Chris, Sheila, Michael, Lisa, & Jai. She was predeceased by a sister, Marsha Mertz Smith, a brother Dennis Mertz, and a nephew, Ryan Leiby.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 5th at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton with the Reverend Christopher deForest officiating. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Nov.

5th in the church. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery following the funeral services. Memorial Contributions in her name may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 826 Mahoning Drive West, Lehighton, Pa.
