OBITUARY Janet Lee Klise March 4, 1948 – October 18, 2018 Janet Lee Morris Klise, 70, of Clovis passed on from this earth on October 18, 2018. She was born March 4, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana, of parents Billie V. Morris (born in Orange, Texas) and Geraldine Benefield Morris (born in Selma, California). Her father passed away in 1959 and her mother in 1996.

Janet leaves to celebrate her life, beloved husband of 41 years Timothy Jon Klise, son Jonathan Lee Klise, grandson Kaden Jonathan Klise and granddaughter Rylee Madison Klise; Janet’s sister Judy Morris Crowder, her husband Larry Crowder and their children Emily, son-in law Will and granddaughter Elanor Huneycutt, sons Sean and Elias Crowder. She also leaves beloved family members Hazel Steitz, Diane Steitz, Norma Depoyan, Stephen and Cindy Klise, Sarah and Sam Spradling, Emily, Ethan and Ember Spradling, Andrea and Justin Bain, Aubrey and Connor Bain, Doug, Leslie and Scott Reese, Marina Reese and Ruthie Hallasgo. She leaves wonderful friends Tom and Fran Morton, Ron and Teresa Gandolfo, Willie Vink, Janice and John Saylor, and Charlotte and Gene Gandy, among others, and her five ever-present cats.

Janet leaves the ever-lasting memories of her parents and grandparents, Tim’s parents, other family members and good friends. Janet was a professional journalist and photographer until her retirement in 2001. She loved most of all, her family and writing.

She was published in numerous Silver Boomer Books anthologies, many letters to the editor in the Fresno Bee, and in other publications. She was most fond of her writers workshop group led by Janice Stevens, the fellow writers and numerous friends she made in the group. She loved baseball, especially her Fresno Grizzlies and San Francisco Giants.

She steadfastly baked her famous chocolate chip cookies for the Grizzlies every season from 2002-2014, and she and Tim were Grizzlies Season Ticket Holders since their first Opening Day at Beiden Field in 1998, rarely missing a game. She also enjoyed hockey, particularly the Chicago Blackhawks in honor of an early 1800’s ancestor named Isaac Blackhawk Fleenor. Visitation will be Thursday Oct 25, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Boice Funeral Home.

Her life will be celebrated and her death mourned on Friday Oct 26, 2018 at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Ave, Clovis at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N Teilman. Instead of flowers, the family ask that you donate to an animal rescue site of the donor’s choice in Janet’s name (here kitty, kitty…) Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.
