Janet Miriam Lamm, (née Emyanitoff) age 63, of McHenry Il, formerly of Highland Park Il, passed away Monday October 29, 2018, at home with her family and friends by her side. She was married to George Gary Lamm, of Evanston, Il on August 12, 1979. Janet spent her professional career of 26 years at Abbott Laboratories, North Chicago, working up to the position of Clinical Project Manager, responsible for organizing and conducting clinical trials of experimental new drugs and delivery devices. Her accomplishments led to the marketing of safe, effective and revolutionary drugs for treating bacterial and viral infections, autoimmune system diseases, childhood seizures, HIV infections, gastric reflux, and many other maladies.
Janet found a great deal of satisfaction and pride in her life’s work, and she was recognized frequently for her accomplishments. Janet’s personal life revolved around her 4 wonderful children, Rebecca (Aaron) Latshaw, Michael Lamm, Andrew (William) Nolan-Lamm and Joshua Lamm, and her two beautiful grandchildren, Ari, 5 years old, and Ayla, 2 years old. She was also a lifelong sponsor and correspondent to an orphan child in India, Mahatmadina De.
Janet was a passionate swimmer, early in life in public pools and later at home in her own pool. She also enjoy expressing her creative energies through painting, sewing, cross-stitching, and ceramics. She was a friend to many and was always there for her friends.
Later in life, Janet discovered her biological roots through DNA analysis and the hard work of family and friends. She found and befriended her biological brother and sister-in-law John (Barb) Kennington from her mother’s family and came to know and be accepted by them. This brought a great deal of happiness and closure to her life.
