Janet Murray O’Mahoney, born May 17, 1943 and a lifelong resident of Columbus. Jan graduated from the college of St Mary of the Springs with a degree in education. She was a teacher in the Groveport-Madison School District before starting a family that became the center of her life.

Later, she operated her own State Farm insurance agency. Jan is survived by her husband, Thomas, her children, Kevin, Brian , and Maura, her six grandchildren who knew her as “Grannie”, and three sisters, Sharon, Mary Patricia (Patsy) and Sheila. After a long battle with Alzheimer’s, Jan passed away peacefully on November 17.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to the St. Dominic BREAD Team Project to support families facing issues involving eldercare/dementia. St. Dominic church offices are located at 834 S. Ohio Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43205 or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www. alz.com.
