Janice Herman September 22, 1943 – December 28, 2018 Janice K. Herman, 75, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 31, 2018 at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral Home.

Burial is at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Milan Animal Shelter. Jan was born September 22, 1943, in Quincy, the daughter of Solomon Glory Hester & Mary Catherine (Comstock) Hester.

She married Frank R. Herman on August 24, 1973 in Moline, IL. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2004. She was formerly married to George Reed, Sr. Jan was employed most recently at Hy-Vee, in Milan & was a horse trainer for many years.

She enjoyed being with her family, her dogs, horses, and dancing. Survivors include her daughters and spouses; Chris and Jim Jorgensen, Antioch, IL, Bambie Reed and Edie Mack, Rock Island, IL, and a son Danny (Shelly) Reed, Woodhull, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Christina) Jorgensen, Jamie (Steve) Smart, Matthew (Tre) Jorgensen, Alyse (Nick) Mastrodonato, Amanda Reed, Codi (Nick) Reed, Levi Reed, Erica (Taylor) Mack, Lindsay Mack; and great grandchildren, Lucas, Owen, and Mila. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Frank.
