Janice Lorraine Tipton was born December 30, 1957 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Junior Pierce and Imogene (Springfield). She passed away November 3, 2018 in Oklahoma City at the age of 60. Janice grew up in Davenport, where she attended high school with the class of 1976.

She married Steve Tipton in 1974 and they raised to sons together. She was a long time member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church of Stroud. Janice enjoyed cooking, riding motorcycles and visiting.

She will be remembered for her loving ways of caring for those around her and for her huge heart. She loved her grandchildren and her little dog, Reggie. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Tommy Peirce; and step-father, Arky Strayhorn.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 44 years, Steve Tipton of the home; sons, Jerade Tipton and his wife Marie currently stationed at Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia, Brandon Tipton and his wife Jennifer of Bixby; (4) grandchildren Samuel, Gabriel, Brenna, William; brother, Donald Pierce and his wife Mary Ann; father-in-law, Billy Tipton; brother-in-law, Keith Tipton and his wife Morene; along with other family and a host of wonderful friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Davenport with Reverend Mike Haynes officiating and interment following in the Davenport Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
