Janice P. Eckrote, 69, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born in Wilkes-Barre on May 16th, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Pearl (Davis) Eckrote. Janice was an active member of Back Mountain Harvest Assembly of God, Trucksville.

She loved Jesus with all of her heart and was very devoted to her faith. Janice was a compassionate and caring person who always had a kind word for anyone in need. She also enjoyed sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Johnathan, Dennis, Joyce, Robert and Alvin Jr. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Brenda Boudreaux and husband, Steve, Rhonda Wydra and husband, Marty and Kimberly Miller and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Rebekah Rabalais, U.S. Navy, Allen Martz and wife, Sierra, Rachel Martz, Nicolas and Nathan Miller; great grandchildren, Zachary, Lillianna, Annabella and Nala Martz; brother, David Eckrote and wife, Eileen; sister, Nancy Eveland and husband, Monte and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service honoring Janice will be held Saturday at 5:00 PM at Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Miller.

Family and friends may visit from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
