Jaroslawa’s Obituary A retired Seamstress at M. Wile and Co. Clothing Manufacturer, in Buffalo New York, Jaroslawa Derhak, passed away a little over 4 months after the passing of her loving husband, Zenon, at the age of 92, while under the care of Hospice. The former Jaraslawa Rygajlo, who since the early 60’s served the South Buffalo and Western New York Ukrainian Community as a private seamstress from her home, as well as serving the Buffalo clothing industry by facilitating, High-End Alterations for several affluent clientele. Besides her love of gardening, cooking, and baking, Jaroslawa excelled in an ability to produce many prize-winning Embroidery which she made with much love and care, carrying on the traditions she learned from her ancestors.

She was also very active in many Cultural and Ethnic groups, throughout the Western New York area, such as Ukranian National Women’s League in America, Dnipro Ukrainian Cultural Center, Plast Priat, as well as the Ukranian American Civic Center, to name a few. Married to the Love of her Life, for over 60 years she was the beloved wife of the late Zenon Derhak, who passed away on October 31, 2018. Jaroslawa was the devoted mother of Adrian (Martha) Derhak and Dianna Derhak.

The loving daughter of the late Anna and late Mychailo Rygajlo, she was also predeceased by her siblings Bronislav “Bronco” Rygajlo, Marian Rygajlo, Olia Rygajlo, Stasia Rygajlo (John Chartorynsky) and Aniza Rygajlo (Walter Buszczak). At Mrs. Derhak’s request, there will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Liturgy at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, located at Fillmore at Oneida Sts.

on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 12:30 PM. Please assemble at the Church after 12 Noon. Burial will follow at St. Matthew’s Cemetery, in West Seneca, New York.
