Jean Shields, 91, of Berwick, passed away into the arms of her Savior on Saturday May 4, 2019, at Berwick Retirement Village surrounded in love by her entire family. Jean was born in Ashland, PA on January 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Townly) Davis. She graduated from Tremont High School in 1945.

After graduation she worked for Western Electric in Kearney, NJ. She later worked for the Department of Agriculture in Harrisburg and last worked for Wise Foods for 31 years. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 2003 after 50 years of marriage, also by a sister Betty Frey.

Jean is survived by four sons, Russell and his wife Laura, Nescopeck, Jim Boyd and wife Donalee, Cape May, NJ, David Shields and wife Fay, Berwick, and Gary Shields and wife Crystal, Nescopeck; sister, Lorraine Hazelhurst Berwick; granddaughters, Courtney Shields, Kathy Shields Brown, Kelly Noroski; grandsons, Donnie Shields, Brian & David Boyd; great grandchildren, Logan & Gwyn Noroski and Nicholas Boyd & Russell Boyd. Jean was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and belonged to the Martha Sunday School Class and Senior Circle. Services will be Friday May 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at Bethany United Methodist Church, 116 Summerhill Ave.

, Berwick with Reverend Stephen Portner officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery at Walnut St., Berwick. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
