85, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 23, 2018, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of sixty-seven years to C. Edward Gauvin. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John Romeo and Alice (Karwoski) Kelly.

Jean was a clerical worker in the tax department at Cranston City Hall for over twenty years before her retirement. Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Edean Mendonsa of Cranston, Eric Gauvin and his wife Sandra of Cranston, and Charles Gauvin and his wife Jane of Putnam, CT. Jean was the cherished grandmother of nine and the great-grandmother of two.

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mark Church, 15 Garden Court, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Thursday morning 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906.
