Jean’s Obituary Jean Maurer Birch Run, MI Passed away peacefully Sunday May 19, 2019 at the University of Michigan Medical Center; age 83 years. Jean Haske was born on July 28, 1935 in Gilford, MI. to the late Henry and Esther Haske.

She was married to Raymond Maurer for 56 years, until he predeceased her on March 5, 2016. Together they raised a family and farmed. Jean was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church.

She volunteered at the City Rescue Mission and also Bethesda for many years. Surviving are her children, Larry Maurer, Thomas (Heidi) Maurer, Karen Maurer and fiancé Kevin “Butch” Baldwin; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Robert (Chris) Haske, Donald (Jacquine) Haske, Bev (Pat) Enos; brother-in-law, Ervin Letson; and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Maurer; brothers, Henry Haske, Everett Haske, Ralph Haske, Ronald Haske and sister Judy Letson.

A private Family Service will take place. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Shriners Childrens Hospital.
