Obituary for Jeannette Marshall Jeannette Therese Marshall, 92, of Westminster, Colorado passed away peacefully in her home on September 22, 2018. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Magdalene (Mauer) Meyers on January 19, 1926. She married William Marshall on October 2, 1948.

Jeannette leaves a long legacy of lives that she has touched. Her life can be characterized by love, family, faith and commitment. She was a dedicated employee for over 30 years at Schwark Furniture in Utica, Michigan .

She will always be remembered as the consummate host and an exceptional cook. Guests at her countless parties and holiday gatherings were treated to memorable meals. Her family was especially fond of her poppy seed bread, cheesecake, and porcupine meatballs.

Her “Gift of Gab” is legendary, and still brings a smile to the faces of her family when they recall it. She was no stranger to adventure in her retirement – moving across the state of Michigan from Rochester to Canadian Lakes, picking up golf, traveling overseas, and, at the age of 90, moving to Colorado where she and Bill had a beautiful Independent Living apartment a stone’s throw from her daughter, Karen. Her large family would travel from every corner of the globe to spend quality time with her both in Michigan and Colorado.

Jeannette is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Bill; her four children, Lynn (Stephen) Bishop, Gregory (Charlene) Marshall, Karen (Robert) Strain, and Jon (Patricia-Anne) Marshall; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Rebecca)Bishop, Katherine (Ryan) Tietema, Jeffrey (Sara) Bishop, Lindsay Strain, Robert Strain, Kelly Strain, Megan Marshall, Driss Marshall, and Thomas Marshall; six great-grandchildren, Carter and Josie Bishop, and Madeline, Anneliese, James, and Katherine Tietema. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters, Margaret, Rita, and Sister Mary Gemma, and one brother, Daniel. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul of Tarsus Catholic Church, 41300 Romeo Plank Road, Clinton Township, Michigan on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon at Sycamore Hills Golf Club.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. to visit and share memories. Private burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. , Clinton Township, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Jeannette’s name to St. Mark’s Capital Building Fund, 3141 W. 96th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80031.
