Jeffrey A. “Scooby” Schneider of rural Chesaning, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 4, 2019. He was born in Owosso on April 20, 1962, the son of Elmer V. and Joan (Coughlin) Schneider. Jeffrey was raised on the family farm where he worked along side his father and brothers.

He eventually bought his own property but continued farming with his family. Scooby was a very Christian person and loved being outdoors. He was a member of the Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association and proudly showed his truck.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially the kids. Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Elmer and Joan Schneider; his sisters and brothers, Karen (Vic) Barancik, Sheree (Dale) Hafner, Bryan Schneider, Mary Jo (Ron) Nietling, Vickie (Kevin) Vincke, and Mike Schneider; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Tyler Heise and his family; other loving family and lots of friends. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Ryan Spike, and a great-nephew, William Spike.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2019, at Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Monday until time of the memorial service. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Van Andel Research Institute, Melanoma Research-Dream Team, 333 Bostwick Avenue, NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, Attn: Development.
