Obituary for Jennifer La’Trese Smith In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Jennifer La’Trese Smith, 39 of Fairburn, Georgia on Friday, June 1, 2018. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Jennifer La’Trese Smith, 39, wife, mother and dear friend to all, died peacefully on June 1, 2018 in Fairburn, Georgia.

She was born to Glen and Sylvia Williams on June 3, 1978 in Augusta, Georgia. Jennifer grew up in Soperton, Georgia and was a 1996 graduate from Treutlen High School. She later received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Architectural Studies in 2000 from Morris Brown College and went on to have a career with Suntrust for the next seventeen years.

She also had an entrepreneurial spirit and later started real estate, jewelry and travel businesses. Jennifer was united in holy matrimony, June 14, 2003, to her loving, devoted husband and travel partner, Marshall Smith, Jr They were blessed to have two children, Marshall Smith III and Alexander Smith.

An avid traveler and foodie, Jennifer’s true life passions were her family and she sought to instill her love for travel in her children. Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Susie Williams and Herbert and Carolyn Washington; mother-in-law, Vanessa Smith; her beloved cousins, Jimmy Thomas, Jr. and Kimberly Johnson and other loving family members. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, Marshall Smith, Jr.; two sons, Marshall Smith III and Alexander Smith; her parents, Glen and Sylvia Williams; two siblings, Erica Williams and Zachary Brazille; father-in-law, Marshall Smith, Sr.; beloved grandmother, Essie Mae Wright; beloved grandfather, Clemon Wright (Betty); sister-in-law, Shree Hayes; brother-in-law, Marvin Smith (Altomeise); three nephews; Kristopher Hayes, Christin Smith and Stephen Carter; one niece, Taniyah Smith; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
