Jeremiah Ray “JR” Shipman, 39, passed away on Thursday, May 9th, 2019 in Asheville, NC. Jeremy was born November 11, 1979 to Larry Ray Shipman and Debbie Dill Daniels in Hendersonville, NC. Jeremy was a graduate of Enka High School and was decorated member of ROTC.

He worked as a server at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen in Asheville. Jeremy cherished every moment with his children. His favorite activities included hiking, fishing, and camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains, especially with his children.

It was here he found peace. He was a very talented mechanic who loved to work on cars with his buddies. His favorite vehicles were low rider trucks.

Jeremy is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother Lucy Dill; maternal great-grandfather James “Bub” Dill; paternal grandfather, Billie Ray Shipman; paternal uncle, James Andrew Shipman; paternal great-grandmother, Ruth Ball Allen; and paternal great-grandfather, Mack Allen. He is survived by his children, daughter Madison Kaylynn Shipman of Hendersonville, NC and son Marley Ray Shipman of Asheville, NC; sister Miranda Noelle shipman of Asheville; parents Larry Shipman and Debbie Daniels; stepfather Jerry Daniels of Candler, NC; paternal grandmother, Mary Allen Shipman of Thomasville, NC; paternal uncle, Robert Lee Shipman; maternal grandmother and grandfather, Marleen and Hank Dill of Fort Wayne, IN; maternal uncles Dennis Dill of Maryland and Shawn Dill of Indianapolis, IN; and cousin Amber Nicole Shipman of Thomasville, NC. The time and place of the memorial service for Jeremy will be announced at a later date.

His ashes will be buried with his great-grandmother and great-grandfather Dill.
