JEROME KURT BOULDEN, SR December 16, 1959 – January 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Jerome Kurt Boulden, Sr. was born to Albert Boulden and Myrtis Lee Battle Boulden on Wednesday, December 16, 1959, in Houston, Texas. Jerome Sr. departed his earthly house for his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Jerome was a very active member at First Baptist ChurchCordell in El Dorado, Arkansas as a child into young adulthood.

He joined Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas and later transferred his membership to The Church Without Walls with his Family on April 13, 2014. Jerome Sr. received his education in El Dorado, Arkansasat El Dorado High School in 1978 where he was active in different clubs and played football. After graduating from high school Jerome Sr. enlisted in the Army on July 27, 1978.

He was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia where he received an honorable discharge. He furthered his education by attending Houston Community College in Houston, Texas, Friendship Community College in Rockhill, North Carolina and Morristown Community College in Morristown, Tennessee. Jerome also attended Grambling State University where he became a LOVERof the Grambling State University Tigers.

Jerome was also a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. Jerome recentlycelebrated his 40th Class Reunion in October 2018, with his beloved classmates. Jerome Sr. was a loyal employee of Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas for 24 years where he served as a Starter and Bus Operator as well as a very vocal member of the union.

On September 21, 1996, Jerome Sr. married Veronica Lynn Bell, and during this Union, Jerome Kurt Boulden II was born. Jerome Sr. affectionately called Jerome II (J2 or just 2). Jerome Sr. with his two cousins/brothers, Anthony “AC”Carter and Byron Carter, coached together for over 27 years at FUN Football for the “Mighty” Alief Steelers.

Jerome was very active and wore various hats in the AliefSteelers Organization. He loved working with children and tried to the best of his ability to be a good role model for them and his son. He was active in his son’s life and loved him more than life itself.

Brother Boulden was a member of the Truth Square 359, Masonic Lodge since 2010. He was raised to a 3rd Degree Master Mason in May 2011. The Grand Lodge is United Most Worshipful Scottish Rite Grand Lodge.

Jerome Sr. is preceded in death by his father Albert Boulden, his brother Albert Craig Boulden, maternal grandparents Mr. Clifford Battle and Ms. Ossie L. Autry, his paternal grandparents Mr. Willie and Mrs. AdellBooker and Ms. Wilma Booker, his maternal great grandmother Ms. Nannie Tuggle, and paternal great grandfather Mr. Gus Booker. Jerome Sr. leaves to cherish his fond and loving memoriesVeronica Lynn Boulden his wife of 22 years, his son Jerome Kurt Boulden II (J2), his devoted mother Myrtis Lee Boulden Kirk; his sisters Eugenia Boulden Ford (Chester) and Lisa Boulden Jamerson; his sister in laws Dorathy Boulden, Tiffani Spinks and Cassandra Bell; his special aunt Sylverta Davenport and Uncles William C. Battle and Billy Carter; his niece/daughter IyesshiaBoulden and other nieces Nadia Ford, ShanequeJamerson, Alexis Crayton, Dominique Turner, DeCourtney Turner, and Ashlyn Spinks; nephews Dameon Henry (NeeNee), Brandon Jamerson, Cheston Ford and John T. Spinks III; great-nephews, Javen Miller, Bryson Boulden, and Nathan Ford; great-nieces Jada Williams, Breyonia Jamerson, and Ca’Moni Ford; god-sons Brian Adams and Colton Smith and a host of other relatives and friends.
