Jerry Norman Hart age 83 a resident of Peachtree City, Georgia passed away in his home after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Sondra, their 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Jerry was born in Geary, Oklahoma and was son of Urne and Opal Hart.

He was a talented athlete who played football and wrestled for Geary High School and went on to wrestle for Oklahoma State University. Jerry married Sondra Kay Hacker and the two have been married for 55 years. Together they raised their children Daniel Lee Hart, Michael Wayne Hart and Shauna Kay Hart in Dallas, Texas.

Jerry’s career was dedicated to helping others in the field of mental health as a psychiatric social worker employed by Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas for 35 years. He was admired by his coworkers and patients, several of his patients he continued to serve until the time of his passing. After retirement, he and his wife Sondra settled in Peachtree City, Georgia along with their daughter Shauna and granddaughter Marissa.

Jerry was a dedicated father to his children and a very proud grandfather to his grandchildren James (25), Lynsey (23), Jillian (17), Marissa (14) and Joseph (9). Jerry had a strong appreciation for his country and those that fought to preserve our freedoms. Jerry served in the Army and was stationed in Fort Benning.

He could often be found watching Fox News, poker or Oklahoma football. Besides spending time with family, Jerry’s favorite pastime was playing poker with his “poker buddies” on Mondays in his basement and on Fridays in Fayetteville. He enjoyed this time with friends even though they were just a bunch of “liars and cheeters!

” Jerry Hart will be missed by all that knew him. His family will remember him by his strong ethics and moral code and his pride for his children and grandchildren and his unconditional love for his wife Sondra. Those in the community may remember him by his friendly hellos at the bank, his purchasing of lotto tickets (for the Australian trip) and his trips to Kroger to purchase red roses for special occasions for his wife Sondra, daughter Shauna and granddaughter Marissa.
