Jerry Lee Langhofer February 20, 1942 – February 11, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Jerry Lee Langhofer, age 76, passed away on February 11, 2019, of natural causes in his home in North Platte, Nebraska. A celebration of his life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on January 23, 2019, at Meridy’s Restaurant & Lounge in Russell, Kansas. Burial will be private.

Jerry was born at home in Bunker Hill, Kansas on February 21, 1942, to Elmo and Ella (Feil) Langhofer. He graduated from Bunker Hill High School and attended Fort Hays University. Jerry worked for many years in the oil field business.

He was a roustabout in his younger years and owned his own directional drilling company called the A-team later in life. He ended his oil career as a contract directional driller who traveled across the country. He was a huge fan of old tv shows (especially westerns), loved playing on his computer, and was always one to pass on a good joke.

Anyone who knew Jerry can tell you that he had a quick temper, but they will also tell you that he was generous to a fault and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Jerry is survived by his niece and grand-niece, Jody M. McGuirk (Ryan) and Rinley A. McGuirk of Denver, Colorado, and his sister-in-law Margaret Langhofer of Russell, Kansas. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, sister Patty Bebermeyer, brother Larry Langhofer, and nephew Michael “Lefty” Langhofer.
