Verla’s Obituary Verla Averil Siverly, age 86, of Altoona, Iowa, passed away January 30, 2019 at Calvin Community in Des Moines. She was born March 27, 1932 in Wellfleet, NE. Verla was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, which was a special ministry for her. She worked as a receptionist for Mr. Tax of America for 20 years before retiring in 2013. Verla loved being in the mix of “small town gossip”.

She also enjoyed bowling and traveling with friends and family. Verla is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (Mario) D’Aniello; grandchildren, Anthony D’Aniello, and Holly D’Aniello; son, Michael (Kathy) Siverly; grandchildren Steve (Mona) Siverly and Michael (Samara) Clingan-Siverly; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Alvin; parents, Ernest and Mary Jeanette Young; brothers, Keith Young and Dale Young.

Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 W B St, North Platte, NE, with a graveside service to follow at Floral Lawns Memorial Garden Cemetery in North Platte, NE. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Verla. The family will later donate the contributions to a local veteran’s organization, as Verla was a huge supporter of our veterans.
