Jerry’s Obituary Jerry Thomas Hiers, 67, of Warthen, formerly of Pavo, died Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Washington County Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Zion Grove Assembly of God with the Rev. Andy Wallace officiating.

Interment will follow in Zion Grove Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Raymond Dukes, Scottie Vinyard, Eddie Moye, Tony Pirkle, Phil Wallace and Brandon Knowles. Honorary casketbearers will be Buddy Lamb and Gene Lamb.

Born November 1, 1951 in Pavo, he was the son of Ruby Dolphine Lamb Hiers of Sandersville and the late Rev. Perry Washington Hiers. Mr. Hiers was a self-employed residential contractor and was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Jodie Visesri Hiers of Warthen; daughters, Tanna Pulve and Dan of Brownstown Township MI, Katrina Knowles of Milledgeville, Jessi Russell of Cartersville GA; son, Jake Hiers and Lauren of Newnan; step-children, Passakon Visesri, Jkakapat Visesri, Nuttapat Visesri and Sonpoonyavat Visesri all of Udon Thani Thailand; grandchildren, Logan Pulve, Jasmine Pulve, Ansley Verovich, Brandon Knowles, Hannah Grace Hiers, Beau Hollimon, Xander Hollimon and Austin Russell, ; great-grandchild, Emma Grace Verovich; sisters, Pat Dukes and Raymond of Summerville GA, Shirley Wallace and Phil of Sandersville GA; brother, Tim Hiers and Sharon of Sandersville GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Cobb Funeral Chapel. This is a courtesy announcement of May and Smith Funeral Directors of Sandersville.
