Jesse Lowery was born on December 25, 1946, to Myrtle Lee Watson in Dallas, Texas. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord on December 23, 2018, in Dallas, Texas, at age 71. Jesse graduated from Pinkston High School and went on to enlist in the United States Navy.

He proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1970. He then attended the University of North Texas where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Jesse pursued the opportunity to work for one of the leading aerospace technology companies, Texas Instruments.

He worked as a Chemical Lab Technician for approximately 35 years. When Air Liquide acquired a division of Texas Instruments, Jesse continued his employment for five more years. In 2009, he retired after a cumulative 40 years of service.

Jesse was a member of New Mount Zion Baptist Church where he served in various roles and ministries, including deacon and the male chorus. He also served as president of the Brotherhood. He was most passionate about his service with the Parking Ministry.

In pleasant and inclement weather, he delightfully greeted worshippers each Sunday and ensured the safety of the parking lot. Affectionately regarded as “BaBa” by his family, Jesse enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Jesse was predeceased by his mother; and brothers, Charles Lowery and Booker T. Lowery. Those left to cherish precious memories include his wife, Maxine Lowery; son, Roderick Lowery; daughter, Brandi Lowery; granddaughters, Jazmine Lowery and Elechianna “LeLe” McLaughlin and her husband, CJ; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne Lowery and Willie Lowery; church daughter, Wilma Yancy and her husband, Brian, and their children and grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
