He was a workaholic and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Muleshoe. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jessie is survived by his three sons, Gabriel Vargas of Lubbock, Texas, Matthew Vargas of Muleshoe, Texas and Isaac Vargas of Muleshoe, Texas; his daughter, Jessica Vargas of Lubbock, Texas; his four sisters, Mary Vargas of Lubbock, Texas, Francis Vargas of Muleshoe, Texas, Janet Vargas of Kyle, Texas and Glorya Vargas of Austin, Texas; his three brothers, Joe Miguel Vargas and his wife, Kristinia of Muleshoe, Texas, Rolando Vargas and his wife, Maryann of Canyon, Texas and Leo Vargas and his wife, Anna of Levelland, Texas; and his three grandchildren, Juan Carranza, Sebastian Carranza and Zachry Carranza.
