Obituary for LaDelta Vernon (Ingle) LaDelta Vernon died Friday, November 2, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 6 days. She was born August 26, 1937 in Sudan to Russell and Ruby (Nixon) Ingle. She married Calvin Vernon in Portales, New Mexico on October 4, 1957.

LaDelta taught school for 31 years at Sudan ISD. She was also a full time farmer’s wife. She loved her church and taught Sunday school for over 40 years.

LaDelta is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Geneva Newman. LaDelta is survived by her husband, Calvin; her two daughters, Jody Lyle and her husband, Charlie of Andrews, Texas and Shanda Broadhurst and her husband, Lance of Littlefield, Texas; her four grandchildren, Kristen (Michael) May, Brandon (Sydney) Lyle, Jordan (Becca) Broadhurst and Hayden (Emilee) Broadhurst; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church Sudan, Building Fund, 108 Highway 303, Sudan, Texas, 79371.
