Jim’s Obituary James (Jim) Leroy Hopper, affectionately known as Sarge, was born August 21, 1937, to Charles and Leone Hopper. He passed away December 15, 2018, at home with his wife and family by his side. Most of his early years were spent in the Sequim-Port Angeles area.

He graduated from Sequim High School then joined the Army in 1960. He was in the 82nd Airborne Unit and served numerous tours in Vietnam. He retired from the service in 1982, and returned to Port Angeles.

With his first wife Jerri, he bought The Welcome Trailer Park. He married Germaine Marie de Pinna on November 13, 1999 in Reno, Nevada. They purchased Al’s Trailer Park and resided there.

Germaine passed away January 1, 2019. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jerri; parents, Charles and Leone Hopper; brothers, Rodney and Gary Hopper. Jim is survived by his sisters, Shirley (Jim Brodhacker) Schmidt, Joyce Hahn, Dee (Ron) Gardner and Beverly (John) Pogany; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be military services at The Veterans Park on Lincoln Street for Jim, March 29, 2019, at 1 PM. Drennan & Ford Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements. Please sign the online guestbook for his family at www.
