Saluda, SC-James Sheldon “Jim” Palmer passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. Born July 30th, 1940 in Saluda, SC, he was the son of the late Bennie Lee Palmer (Jake) and Willie Derrick Palmer. Mr. Palmer is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elsie Hutto Palmer of the home; two daughters, Robin Palmer (Maurice) Griffith of Saluda, SC and Jerri Palmer (Patrick) Armstrong of Miami, FL; son, Raymond (Ray) Whitaker of Lexington, SC; 7 grandchildren, Josh (Logan) Griffith of Batesburg, SC, Erika Griffith (Ben) Watkins of North Augusta, SC, Aaron and Eric Mason, Sean, Katherine and Elizabeth Whitaker; brother, William “Dewey” (Debra) Palmer of Ninety-Six, SC; 2 nephews, Ken (Kipp) Palmer and Jeff (Lorinda) Palmer both of Saluda, SC.

Family and Friends are welcome to celebrate Jim’s life. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday 3:00 p.m. at Butler United Methodist Church in Saluda, SC with the Rev. Lee Cothren and Rev.

Joseph Hallman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at Butler Fellowship Hall.

Memorials may be made to Butler Church Cemetery Fund 165 Butler Rd Saluda, SC 29138. Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
