Jimmie Dean McCollum August 24, 1956 – December 25, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Jimmie “Jim” Dean McCollum Jimmie “Jim” Dean McCollum, 62, of Harker Heights, Texas, formerly of Marceline, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas after his second battle with lung cancer. Jim was born in Marceline, Missouri on August 24, 1956 to William “Howard” and Betty (Russell) McCollum. He married Lois Jobson on November 26, 1977 in Bucklin.

He worked for forty years as a professional truck driver, working for several local and national companies. Jim is survived by his wife Lois of the home, four daughters Misty Dunn (Jacob) of Rison, AR, Erin Fairchild (Josh) of Harker Heights, TX, Sara Teeter (Chandler) of Marceline, and Caitlin Harris (Dustin) of Doe Run, MO; seven grandchildren Bryon, Jack, Breanna and Emmalynn of Harker Heights, TX, Parker and Emmersyn of Marceline, and Mikynze of Doe Run; two nephews Chris Wolfskill and Andy Zemlicka, both of Fort Madison, IA; brother-in-law Jim Zemlicka (Pat) of Fort Madison, IA and special friends Mike and Susan Pokhias, of New Cambria, Mike and Regina Paalhar and Tim and Mary McCoy, of Marceline, and Dave and Jessica Murray of Caldwell, TX. He is also survived by many other loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of long-time friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy Zemlicka. Cremation services were handled by Heritage Funeral Home of Harker Heights, TX, with a private memorial service to be planned for the spring.
