Jimmie Gordon, Jr February 19, 1963 – March 20, 2019 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Jimmie’s life’s JOURNEY ended suddenly on March 20, 2019 after a brief illness. Jimmie lived his life with the values instilled by his parents, to be the very best man and provider he could be, Jimmie exceeded in this area. Jimmie was born on February 19, 1963 to Estella & Jimmie Gordon, Sr., the second of three children.

Jimmie attended Christ Our King Catholic School in his early years transferring to public school in his high school years to study the trade of plumbing at Delcastle Vocational High School. Jim proudly wore #5 as he hustled down the basketball court as one of Delcastle’s “Cougars”. He also played on the football team graduating in 1982.

Jim worked for Atlas Sanitation as a driver for several years, moving on to the Auto Port, General Motors and currently employed with the Port Authority of Wilmington, DE. Jim was an Entrepreneur, owner & operator of “Tornado Floor Cleaning Specialist” along with his son Michael, providing quality floor care to customers. Jim’s hobbies were fishing, grilling(with the famous Gordon BBQ Sauce) & basketball.

Devon Dickerson Gordon, Jim’s eldest son was born 1982. Jim met and married his wife of 30 years Devoria Tiffany in 1989. From this union they were blessed with Jimmie lll, Michael and Jim’s heart, daughter Calah.

Jim had a great sense of humor often times referring to himself as Don Corleone(The Godfather) Rendering a hearty laugh from all. Jim was always helping others when needed. Jim’s true calling was as a husband & father.

He was a family man, a great provider; working two jobs at times to ensure he met his family’s needs. John Turner, David Cole, Glenn Russell, Marvin Smith, George Douglas and Mark Haney are Jim’s life long brothers and good friend Glen Coverdale. Jim leaves to cherish his memory, Devoria Tiffany, his wife, eldest son, Devon Dickerson(Sonja) Jimmie lll, Michael and daughter Calah, Mother, Estella Gordon, grandchildren; Khaanan Gordon, Anika Gordon, Aubrey, Keith, Devin and Kevin Harmon Dickerson.

Inlaws, Dixie Gardner(Philip), Pamela Johnson(Darnel), Patricia MacLynn(William), Shelia Moore, Gwendolyn Chapman, Kevin Jones, Sr(Edie), Gregory Jones, Sr., Lester Jones, Sr.(Miriam), Jessie, David, Edward and Toshombia Jones. Niece, Zara White, & great niece, Zavaidah White. Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by his father, Jimmie Gordon, Sr., Jessie C. Jones, Sr and Lucille Bohanin(in laws) A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday April 2, 2019 at 11 am. Viewing 9-10:45 am. Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th Street, Wilm.
