Jimmy Lucas Shiver, 79, of Newton died Friday, January 11, 2019 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Rev. James Cain will officiate. Born November 3, 1939 in Dougherty County, Mr. Shiver was the son of the late John Spence Shiver and Estelle Broadway Shiver.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Shiver was an automotive technician. He was a member of Mt.

Zion… Read More » Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Shiver of Newton; one daughter, Brenda S. Horton (Tom) of Dawsonville; two sons, Tim Shiver (Wendy) of Ocilla and Jim Shiver (Bee) of Middleburg, FL; one sister, Vivian Peace of Patmos; two brothers, John Spence Shiver of Warner Robins and Ronnie Wright of Douglas; and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt.

Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mr. Charles Griner, 3888 Mt. Zion Church Rd. , Camilla, GA 31730.
