William James “Jimmy” Stinson, age 77, of East Dublin, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019. Mr. Stinson was a native of Laurens County and a devoted husband, father, and granddaddy. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Dublin where he served as a Deacon and church moderator.

He was also Chairman of the Laurens County Tax Assessors Board. Jimmy was the owner and retired operator of Stinson Tool Worx, Inc He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest S. and Elizabeth Bush Stinson.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Thomas Stinson, of East Dublin; daughters, Beverly Stinson Faircloth (Rick), of Mt. Vernon, Julie Collins (Todd), of Atlanta, and Deidre Clark (Bobby), of Dublin; son, James (Allison) Stinson, of East Dublin; grandchildren, Derek (Chantele) Faircloth, of Knoxville, TN, Lauren Norton (Jacob), of Richmond Hill, Kyle (Robin) Collins, Will Collins, and Anna Claire Collins, all of Atlanta, Kali Clark Smith, of Dublin, Krista Clark of Atlanta, Bryant Clark and Blake Keyton, all of Dublin, and Evan (Cynthia) Stinson, of East Dublin; great-grandchildren, Emma Kitchens, Levi Kitchens, Gideon Faircloth, Kylin Norton, Eva Norton, Kennedy Norton, Riggs Smith, and George Collins; sisters, Patsy Watson, and Kay (Don) Dennis. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 11:00AM, on Friday, May 3, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Dublin with Dr. Cliff Morris, Mr. Derek Faircloth, Mr. Kyle Collins, and Mr. Will Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Dublin Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Derek Faircloth, Kyle Collins, Blake Keyton, Will Collins, Bryant Clark, and Evan Stinson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 27 Dublin, GA 31040.
