Jimmy William Drake, 68, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2019, in Beaumont. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at First Pentecostal Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Brother Harrell.

Burial will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. Born in Orange, Texas, on September 14, 1950, he was the son of Johnnie Drake and Lenora Elizabeth (Herrin) Drake. Jimmy was inducted into the United States Army May 7, 1970, where he proudly served his country until May 6, 1976. While in service, he earned numerous medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Sharpshooter (Rifle) Medal.

Jimmy was a talented carpenter and enjoyed fishing & hunting. He loved to be surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren. Jimmy was an amazing husband, father, and pawpaw, and will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Lenora Drake; and sister, Dorothy Drake. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Becky Drake; daughters, Kristy Serna and husband Robert, and Becky Morales and Greg Smith, of Call, Texas; grandchildren. Mikhael Serna, Tyler Serna, Bailey Drake, Rachel Bland, Marissa Morales, and Christopher M. Morales, Jr.; four great-grandchildren; brother, Don Drake and wife Sonia; and sister, Donna Drake.

Serving as pallbearers will be Don Drake, Michael Kelley, Christopher M. Morales, Jr., Michael Serna, Robert Serna and Greg Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Doucet and Tyler Serna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.
