Obituary for Jo Ann Brown Jo Ann Brown, 76, of Durant, OK passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 in Durant, OK. She was born on December 29, 1941 in Comanche, OK to William Orville and Opal Mae (Thompson) Earnhart. Jo Ann grew up in Duncan, OK and went to school in Bray.

She met and married Austin Gene Brown on October 30, 1960 in Wichita Falls, TX. Jo Ann was a housewife for most of her life. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with friends and family.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents, sister Francine Childress, brother in law George Childress, niece Sheila Culbertson, brother in law Alton Lockett, sister in law Oletta Hicks, and grandson Kendall Kyle Brown. Jo Ann is survived by husband Austin Gene Brown of Mead, OK, son Rick Brown and wife Lisa of Mead, OK, son Chris Brown of Davis, OK, son Jeff Brown and wife Kelly of Velma, OK, brother Eddie Earnhart and wife Linda of Duncan, OK, sister Genell Holland and husband Don of Granbury, TX, brother in law Bob Hicks of Annapolis, MD, grandchildren; Bandi Mahaffey and husband Todd of Lexington, KY, Danica Higgins and husband Cory of Garvin, OK, Ashlie Cottingham and husband Bud of Healdton, OK, Cody Brown of Healdton, OK, Shelby Kruse and husband Kolby of Lindsay, OK, and Jake Brown of Velma, OK, great grandchildren; Cooper Higgins, Abigail Mahaffey, Maylee Cottingham, Zane Cottingham, and Wyatt Kruse, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel.
