Joan C. Tuomey, 85, passed away at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains on May 14, 2019. She was born in New York City, NY and lived in Newark, NJ for 25 years, Westfield, NJ for 15 years, Whiting, NJ for 20 years before settling in Mountainside for the past 2 years.

Miss Tuomey was the Office Services Manager for the FBI for 36 years retiring in 1988. She kept herself busy with many jobs until 1998. Joan was a volunteer at Community Medical Center in Toms River, a Eucharist Minster at St. Helen’s in Westfield and at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Manchester Township.

Miss Tuomey is predeceased by her sister Patricia Jennings who passed in 1965 and a niece Mary Pat Colicchio in 2018. She is survived by a sister Margaret (Peggy) and her husband William E. Barry Sr., a nephew William E. Barry Jr. and his wife Linda, three nieces, Ann Collas and her husband John, Joan McCormick and her husband Richard and Sheila Barry and her husband Carmine Apicella. Also survived by many great nieces, nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Services will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church, 1571 Martine Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
