J Anne Silverman , September 01, 1929 — July 02, 2018

JoAnne Silverman of Napa, CA, passed away in her home on July 2nd, 2018. She was 88 years old. JoAnne was born on September 1st, 1929 in Collins, Iowa.

She and her family moved to St. Helena, CA. in 1942. After graduating from St. Helena High School in 1946 she married her high school sweetheart, Dick Silverman.

They lovingly raised three children and were married 54 years until his passing in 2002. JoAnne’s working career included banking, owning and operating a children’s clothing store and finally retiring in 1998 after working 22 years for the Napa County Auditor’s Office. JoAnne is survived by her sister-in-law Winifred Long of Napa, CA; her sister-in-law Nancy Tanabe of Honolulu, HA; her sister-in-law Christine Mayural and her husband Brad of Honolulu, HA; her son and daughter-in-law Larry Silverman and Barbara Lesco of Coos Bay, OR; her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Candace Silverman of Napa, CA; her daughter and son-in-law LeeAnn and Ron Havner of San Marino, CA; her granddaughter Jinna Penachio; her grandson Nathan Silverman and his wife Jessica; her granddaughter Tricia Sierra and her husband J.C.; Matt Silverman and his wife Kelly; her grandson Jason Havner and his wife Julia; her granddaughter Jessica Silverman; her grandson Chris Havner and her granddaughter Sarah Havner; 4 great-grandchildren Cassondra Penachio, Avery Silverman, Oliver Silverman and Henry Silverman.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard (Dick) Silverman; her brother Norman Long and her parents Francis (Dutch) and Ethelynd Long, all of Napa, CA. A funeral is scheduled for JoAnne on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at Tulocay Cemetery at 10am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
