Joaquina “Jackie” Ocasal passed away peacefully on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the age of 85. Jackie was born in Granada, Spain on January 10, 1933 to the late Joaquin Martinez Roman and Mercedes Lopez Morales. Jackie arrived in the United States from Spain in 1960.

She resided in New York before coming to Fairfax, VA in 2015. Jackie’s stage name was “Nadina” and she was well known for her suspension effect on The Ed Sullivan Shows as well as her impression of Richiardi cutting or maiming her during magic illusions. She was married in 1961 to Norman E. Ocasal and had three children. She returned to Spain and lived there with her kids from 1975 through 1984.

She returned to the United States and resided in Whitestone, New York. She worked managing Stork’s Chocolate Factory from 1984 – 1996 when she retired to help raise her granddaughters Elena M. Turner and Diana K. Turner. Jackie is survived by her Son, Christopher Ocasal and his wife Anastasia Parker Ocasal, her daughter, Elizabeth Pickel and her husband Alan Scott Pickel and her daughter, Mercedes Ocasal and her husband Brian K. Turner.

She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Alexander L. Pickel, Joshua E. Pickel, Elena M. Turner, Diana K. Turner, Casey E. Ocasal, William P. Ocasal and Jake P. Ocasal, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She enjoyed traveling to Spain. Her true love was cooking and making those around her comfortable.

She loved spending time with family and friends. She was very much loved in the community. She will be greatly missed by all.

A funeral procession will be leaving Money & King Vienna Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA 22180 at 10:30am, on Saturday, October 6, 2018 which will proceed to a Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Veronica Catholic Church, 3460 Centerville, VA 20151 at 11:00 am.
