Joe Donald Moss, August 25, 1939 — January 16, 2019

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Mr. Joe Donald Moss, 79, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at his home in the Pine Flat community. Visitation will be Friday, January 18, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 18, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home.

Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Moss was born in Laurel, MS. He was a God-fearing man who loved his Ole Miss Rebels.

Mr. Moss supported all Ole Miss sporting events. He was also member of the Ole Miss Quarterback Club, the Rebel Bullpen Club, and the Ole Miss Loyalty Foundation. Mr. Moss was fascinated with hunting and fishing.

He was always known to be an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Moss enjoyed traveling with his wife of almost 55 years, Mary Moss. However, he loved his home in the South more than anywhere else.

Mr. Moss was also very proud of managing and coaching two men’s league softball teams in Mendenhall, MS, and Laurel. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and North Oxford Baptist Church. Mr. Moss is survived by his wife, Mary Moss of Pine Flat, MS; two daughters, Donna Jo (Rob) Boyd of Pine Flat, and Debra Lee Morrison of Mantachie, MS; three granddaughters, Mary Emma Boyd of Pine Flat, and Shelby Morrison and Jade Gordon, both of Mantachie; two grandsons, Trae Boyd and Beau Boyd, both of Pine Flat; one brother, Jerry (Margaret) Moss of Jackson, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Moss was preceded in death by his parents, Odis Moss and Reva Moss; and one brother, Wilson Moss. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Baptist Home Health staff, along with his personal doctors and nurses who helped Mr. Moss through his time of need.
